The celebrities come together for a cause

It is rather heartening to see the world’s top rated celebrities come together in unison to generate funds for charity for Haiti, which experienced the worst ever earthquake in the history, earlier this month. At least the tremors of the earthquake that shook the Haiti region was felt by one and all around the world, what If they were not of seismic origin. The world now stands united in its intention and action to support rehabilitation of the victims of Haiti earthquake and in one such initiative, the most frivolous yet pervasive forms of media, namely, the cinema, the television and the internet have joined hands to raise funds for the people of Haiti.

Internationally famous celebrities like Bono, George Clooney, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen and many more will feature live in concert from around the world, from London to new York to china to Haiti…the world will be together at the same hour. The event will be telecast live on all major networks including HBO, PBS, Comedy Central, BET etc and also will streamed live on MSN, YouTube, HULU, AOL  and other major websites. Even the always surrounded by controversy social networking websites have also agreed to do everything in their capacity to spread awareness and raise funds for the noble cause of helping the Haiti victims.

Its going to be a big event and lots of hopes are riding on this to generate colossal amount of funds for the reconstruction of the torn land. Please do your bit in whatever way you can…humanity beckons you at this hour.

The 3D advent or is it an assault

In the first week of January at Consumer Electronics Show, lots of 3D television technologies and broadcasting services were announced as well as showcased and the need for 3D television has gained momentum after James Cameron’s Avatar hit the screens and took everyone by astonishment.

Many electronic giants have taken the initiative to develop a television compatible with 3D technology and fortunately the HD set top boxes of today are already well equipped to receive 3D broadcast signals. The Sky HD Box is the best Set top box offered by Sky. Broadcast?? Yes, you got it right…the major national and international broadcasters have already started preparing and producing digital content suitable for display on 3D television sets.
Imagine, the whole family sitting together wearing 3D goggles and cheering together for any goal hit by Massa or hooting a wrong decision by referee!

The advent of 3D digital television is nothing short of a phenomenon and is bring hailed as the next revolution in the field of television after they went color from black and white.

But like every other pleasurable material pursuit in life, it isn’t free and comes at a rather huge cost, the beginning price being one thousand pounds, which means that for time being it is going to be beyond the reach of bourgeois. But then they can always go to a pub or a club to enjoy their favorite teams taking on each other in 3D….they obviously isn’t planning to watch the every day soaps on it. They can if they so wish to but it will become rather monotonous if they do so and the whole charm of a 3D experience will soon lose ground.
